How do they manage to find underwater broken fiber optics cable?

Perhaps you are wondering how to locate and splice underwater broken / damaged fiber optics subsea cable?


This video shows a simple way but it may not be that easy on the open sea... 



The other method is using the most expensive method whereby an underwater Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) is utilised to locate damaged subsea fiber optics cable
